Well I met my active goal this week! And I feel pretty good!

My goals are:

to be more active. I'm not going to lie to myself and say I will exercise x amount of days and lose x amount of pounds. I just want to get more active, I am aiming for 20 minutes three times a week. Yesterday I did 35 minutes on the stationary bike, today- nothing. I PLAN to do something two out of the next three days. Small steps...
to put up with less. I hate to be like this, but I am TIRED of being used. If you only call when you want something, don't bother. When I call you, and it seems like you don't want to be bothered, just say so, but don't come calling when you need something. Don't get me wrong, when I am needed, I'm there. I'm just getting tired of being the rock all the time, tired of being the one called when someone needs something but then I don't hear from you again until you need something AGAIN.
to do some more traveling! I LOVED the cruise! So many things to do and experience ( Butterfly wanted me to add "and EAT") I want to just get in the car and drive. Go as many places as we can in a week. ROAD TRIP!

well on Monday, I had four impacted wisdom teeth extracted and it has been ROUGH!!!
I only worked one day last week and I had to rest. The pain is unbearable at times- all because of four teeth that didn't really bother me, only got it done because one had broke and the risk for infection- yada yada.
I have been knitting like crazy, bored with dishcloths, now back on scarves. I also made a photobook or two from the cruise- enjoy!

I'm a little out of it, got all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, I was worried because of the TMJ but no major complications thus far!

Introducing Adonis!

Gnat, here is Adonis! He will be a year in December. We got him the end of April and it has been an adventure! The good thing, he was already housebroken but he was very unsocialized! He gets along great with the dogs but is terrified of everyday noises! He is getting better with us, Diamond is Cal's dog all the way, Adonis is mine. Each day he gets a little better but it has been a trying journey!
Oh and his best feature, besides his beautiful coat, is his cracked marble eyes. One eye is pale blue, the other is blue and black. Love them!
He reminds us so much of Lucky

LOL! I can't believe I let over a year past by....lots of updates-

my vacation was nice, a lot I could say but I will be nice.
my nieces came, stayed until October, went back home and ~~haven't spoke to them or my brother since~~ gotta be nice Kenyetta
had a lot of unnecessary work drama, learned the hard way that just because I am your friend doesn't mean that you are my friend
made some new TRUE friends
switched jobs! Now work for the state- LOVE IT! by myself majority of the time so no drama unless I start it! OK!
went on a cruise! I will definitely post pics!
Got another dog- Catahoula Bulldog named Adonis- pics to come soon
taught a coworker to knit which in turn inspired me to knit like crazy!
Ladybug is 16!!!!!!!

I promise, promise, promise - hard to break three promises- to update a little more frequently!

I know it's been a minute again! Sorry, but I am getting to go on my girls vacation to NY with the girls and Antonia! My twin nieces TiTi and CiCi are coming back with us! Fun!
One of my friends from nursing school "commissioned" me to make some baby pants "Das Monster" and a frog bonnet for her babies! Got my mojo back! I will work on those on our train ride!
My niece TiTi just started a blog which inspired me to post again! Thanks TiTi!

I'm back!

Well I hope to be back! I am so so sorry for not updating at all this year!
A lot has been going on!
The girls had a good Christmas, Tash gave them (meaning me) Wii Fit Plus and I have been using it nightly (almost) since Dec 27th. I have lost 13 lbs, and 3 inches off my waist! All without dieting! I am fitting into scrubs(don't go anywhere but work-ugh) I haven't been able to wear for years! It feels good!
I changed my schedule at work, I am now off every Wednesday but I have to work every other weekend. No complaints there, just I have to pull 6 days in a row when it's my weekend on.
Let's see- I have my license! I am officially licensed to drive- watch out! I don't have a car yet but we finally got our rebate so hopefully soon!
Not much knitting accomplished lately, I am working on a bag- just need to finish the last strap, felt it and seam it. I wonder how long that will take me!

First off, I can not believe it has been a month since I last posted! So much has been going on!

First, I just love this pic of Diamond, how can she sleep like that!

I am test knitting a hat for a friend on Ravelry. I ran out of the SRK Perth so I am finally going to crack a skein of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece

On Saturday, I had my first official gathering at the house. We had a Betty Crocker Cookie Party!

The girls did all the baking-Black & White's, Snickerdoodles, Sugar Cookies, Peppermint Cookies and Melten Moments

The girls still love to cuddle with Boss

I made ornaments and mailed them for my swap. I also made a wreath which I neglected to photograph before mailing.

I received the cutest ornaments!

I thought the girls were going to put up the tree this weekend, maybe next weekend. I am so mad, I can't find my elf or snow couple that I received in last year's swap!! I HOPE I did not inadvertently toss them!

I am hoping to not let a month pass before posting again!

If I have any followers left, I would be amazed! I know I have slacked beyond slacking but I am slowing getting it back!
It's raining here, hopefully it will stop soon and I can take Butterfly trick or treating. Ladybug was invited to a classmate's party tonight. We made her costume, she is going to be a cannibalistic doctor. She is wearing my lab coat, stethoscope, gloves, & a mask. Made some fake blood and splattered it on her shirt, made a fake knife and scalpel too. Her name badge reads

I am so clever!
Today, I knitted! Working on a knitted collar. I received the yarn and pattern in my KYS MYB swap.
I made potpourri from the flowers at Tash's wedding.
I even hung some (crooked) pictures today!
Tonight I plan to make a huge pot of chili and bake some cornbread and watch a bunch of horror flicks!

First off I apologize, I am still trying to get this house together. It has almost been a month, we are still not unpacked! No rush I guess.

My mom and brother came to visit last weekend.

Brought the girls comforter sets for their rooms, will take pics later- VERY cute, dishes, waffle cone maker, scrubs for me, and a candle set.

My former teacher, now friend bought me dishes, on Ladybug's bday-yes she is 14 now! Has a cute new haircut and everything!

Today is Butterfly's picture day, curled her hair for her.

Today I received this AWESOME wreath from Gail in the mail! OMG! She is sooooo talented! I can't wait to hang it.

I am soo sooo sorry that I have been AWOL but the closing was moved up to the 25th which worked in our favor because there was no way in hell we could have had that place empty and cleaned in one day! I was a little upset at first because we had to come up with more at closing than we signed the contract for but we worked that out. I can't believe the only reasonable insurance quote was from State Farm, who we went with because they don't DISCRIMINATE against breeds!!
We moved from Friday to Wednesday! But everything is in OUR HOME now. I didn't take too many pics because we have so much still to put up but I don't care because it's mine!!!!!

It's been SOOOO long since I posted! I have good reason, been taking care of all the details, finalizing the house. We close on our first home on September 30th! YAY!

The bad, my living room is a mess of garbage bags! I have been going through all of the junk in the basement and putting ads up on Craigslist.

They sleeping like they actually helped!

I finally bought some ribbon for the outfit for baby Lydia. Now I just need to get off my butt and make the beret and socks.

Ladybug made sugar cookies to take to school. She will be the most loved in no time!

I finished the Beaded Wedding Bag for Tasha! I was trying to take a close up pic to show the lace and bead details.

My Ladybug has contacts now! They both are really enjoying school!
We started going through some of the accumulated junk in the basement. Too much to shred so we put it on the grill and lit it up. I want to have a yard sale or at least do a curb alert for the clothes and shoes.

I have started on the beaded wedding bag for Tash's wedding. I like it so far!

House update, we signed the contract and paid a deposit. We filled out the mortgage papers for FHA, we are supposed to close on September 30th. This waiting game is killing me!

I am feeling really old right now! Today we registered Ladybug for high school- HIGH SCHOOL!!!!
My baby is in the 9th grade. My baby baby is in the 5th grade! Where does time go????

As much as Snoop loves to lay on Diamond, Boss loves to lay his head on Snoop

Ladybug made her first picture with the canvases and paint from Joanie. I told her we will hang this in our new house. Yeah you heard me right, provided something crazy doesn't happen, we close on September 30th! We took the girls over there today.

Snoop loves to sleep in Butterfly's chair. I don't know how he was able to sleep like this- with his head hanging off the chair.

I finished the pants of my baby gift. I just need to find a chocolate or cream ribbon. Now just to decide if I should make the baby beret or not.

I finished the seamless Baby Kimono Sweater for a coworker. I am about to cast on for the Baby Bell Bottoms. I am going to make a hat too. I need to find some cream ribbon to thread through the eyelets.

We have been very busy today! Cal and Nick cut done most of the bamboo and weeds near the house. I pruned the ivy and pulled up all that morning glory! That stuff is pretty when it's open but it takes over! I noticed that one of the peppers is starting to turn red!

Then I came inside and vacuumed, swept, washed clothes, dishes, cooked, and cleaned out one of the cabinets. I might do the other later on. At 2 this morning I made banana pudding! Can't wait to eat dinner.

Maybe I will get some knitting done today too!

The dogs have been very lazy lately. I just love how Snoop sneaks into Diamond's kennel every chance he gets!

I won some organic fruit snacks, I can't wait for the girls to return to try them.

I also won a bracelet pattern and she was kind of enough to send the pink yarn needed to make a Breast Cancer Awareness bracelet. I am having a hard time finding #6 white thread. I have found #10 and # 3 but no #6

I received another sunshine pack! She/He is spoiling me big time!

I figured it out. These are Delphiniums. They are gorgeous. This weekend I am going to thin out the morning glories, they are getting out of control.

I received another wonderful package from my Sunshine Pal. They are so wonderful! I have my third and fourth package all packed up just need to hit the post office. I also need to mail my ADHD Knitting tin swap.

As I was going through recycled envelopes, I found some lovely stitch markers made for me by Auntieknits. In 2007! I am so upset I "lost" these babies.

Yesterday we hung out with my friend Anne, the girls went swimming, then back to her house and made cupcakes, pizza, and had fun. It was nice to get out the house and do something different.

Ladybug made peppermint bark this past week. She also made microwave peanut butter muffins this morning. All gone before the photo shoot. Maybe next time.

I had entered a contest on Facebook, I didn't win but Sentimental Silver gave consolation prizes

Inside were gummies, grow your own flower tub, carrot cards, notebook, magic towel and a project bag

doggies always sleepy- it has been so hot and humid I wish I could sleep like that

The background story, I bought the girls some watermelon. Ladybug asked if she could give Diamond a little piece. Diamond sniffed the piece, and sat for the larger piece that she was holding. Cal offered the small piece to her, Diamond took it in her mouth, spit it out and looked up at the rind ladybug was holding. So Cal offered her a piece from the rind and she ate it! I am so glad the boys are not that picky!

Today was the last day of school for the insects! Ladybug will be going to high school in the fall- wow! I am getting old!
Both of my babies made honor roll, received several awards- We are very proud of them. On Wednesday, Butterfly sang Beyonce's Halo in the talent show. No video of that performance but she was gracious enough to perform for the knitty kitty gang!

baby steps

We are taking baby steps. On Saturday, a girl called and they made plans to go to Barnes & Noble. She said the planning (time, mode of travel, etc) was too much, she didn't want to be annoying by calling so much- if you had got all the info in the first call, you wouldn't have to call again, but she went out and had a good time. She asked again was she supposed to sit at a different lunch table- uh yes!

Yesterday I sent out little announcements letting everyone know that Ladybug is about to graduate from the 8th grade. the first person to contact me was my sister Tara, who I hadn't spoke to in about 2 years! We had just lost touch. She called my brother Morris, who I hadn't spoke to in the same amount of time, and now they are planning a road trip! YAY

I have been complaining of headaches and jaw, tooth, ear, neck pain for weeks. I did a little research and the doc confirmed I have TMJ or Temporomandibular Joint and Muscle Disorders. the funny thing is now that I know and have researched my pain is much better. I know my triggers and limitations and I have barely been taking the anti inflammatory I was prescribed.
Sucks because I can no longer have bagels or chewing gum....

Ladybug received her Asian Childhood inspired MYB! she had a ball unwrapping it!

First week and updates

So far the first week has been good. The first three days, I was doing general and clinical orientation at one of the hospitals. On Thursday, I started orienting at my facility. It's ok, a lot less than what I am used to doing. I am not going to complain! I like the staff- so far, and it's refreshing right now.

Dogs on Thursday- I forgot to post but it was interesting. Diamond was barking at the window on Thursday, when we looked out the animal control van was parked across the street. I am thinking "good finally coming for these strays! " Cal didn't see her so he went outside and I hear them talking a few minutes later. Welllll...she was coming here! Someone called in to say that Cal was mistreating Diamond- wouldn't let her on the porch, kept her outside with no food, water or shelter! HUH?????WTF?????
The Animal Warden, the same one who rescued Boss, said as soon as she had the address she knew it would be unfounded but she still had to investigate. Cal offered to let her come in to see the kennels with beds lined up in the living room, she declined. He let Diamond come out to see her, she said she could tell Diamond hasn't missed any meals.
The day in question, Diamond was throwing up, so we took her outside to throw up in the yard instead of on the already f**ked up hardwood floors. She kept trying to get on the porch while in the process of throwing up. Cal told her to get off the porch. He put her on the tie out for about 20 minutes until the vomiting ended. Diamond has NEVER spent more than 30 minutes outside alone. When the dogs are out, we are out there too!
The warden said she was closing it as unfounded and that we must have pissed someone off. That sounds more likely because we have lived here for almost 3 years. This is the first call. Lucky (RIP) was outside on the porch overnight before. No one called. Last weekend, Cal got into with a "neighbor" a few houses down. He was walking his dog on our yard and Cal told him not to let his dog poop there because he was about to cut the grass. Dude misunderstood and wanted to get all rowdy about it. Whatever, you don't cut the grass, we do and keep your poop in your yard! I think it was him.

I planted flowers in the flower boxes almost two weeks ago, and now I have seedlings! If I had only marked what I planted where. I know I put morning glory and sparaxis or gladiolus or rain lillies in this box...

My friends threw me a Good Luck party! Earlier in the shift, a family member cooked me dinner and brought snacks in for everyone. I am really going to miss my patients, family members and friends.

Cal called me at work, said Snoop's eye was swollen, did I notice. I hadn't. Then in a few minutes, he called to let me know that his entire face was swollen!

So one emergency vet and $138 later- Snoop had been stung by a bee and he had a SEVERE allergic reaction. Had to get a shot of epi and benadryl. I was so worried.

My baby is back to normal today!

Head and Tooth

I have been having horrendous head and tooth aches! Nothing helps, just have been suffering through them.
I worked my last weekend, broke the news to everyone, most are sad to see me go and wish me the best, some feel I will be back. Whatever. I will miss my patients, one family wants to make me dinner my last night, and most of my coworkers, but I plan to keep in touch and pick up a shift here and there.
Sunday my next batch of Amish Bread will be ready!
I went to Dollar Tree and bought some buds- Rain Lillies, Sparaxis & Gladiolus, I am finally going to plant in flower boxes on my porch. The insects and I will work on that this weekend. They went to my mom's for the weekend, coming back today.
I am also slowly working on the Prime Rib Dishcloth. Love it!

Well I took the new job. I start on the 27th. I gave my two week notice on the 7th- handed my letter to the DON and walked out without a word! petty but it felt good- long story there! Today the first phone call, I hadn't told anyone but one person and she kept her mouth closed, the staffing coordinator- first asking me about a personal time slip I put in- gotta use it up, then "you didn't tell me you were leaving??" Didn't tell anyone! So I suspect Friday when I go in, I will have a lot of questions to answer. Oh well! Their loss!

I decorated a plain scrub top with iron on ladybugs that Gail had sent to the girls.

A few weeks ago my Automatic Shower Cleaner stopped working, so we took the bottle out and just used the cleaner as a spray- not as efficient, didn't clean as well either!
Last night, I saw the box in the room and was going to throw it away when I noticed the warranty on the bottom. I called today, spoke to Kathy and they are sending me a replacement unit!

I must be in a good mood today this is my 4th post today!

Debt Challenge Update

I must say I am very proud of myself. The month of March I spent a total of $0 dollars ordering out at work. I did spend $12.50 on other stuff: 50 cents on playing a number one night and $12 on the stamp kit but that was ordered back in February.
Now that the challenge is over I plan to stick to bringing my lunch and snacks to work. Plus I just found out I am in my cousin's wedding in October- need to lose a few!

Is back home! They picked him up on the 100 block of our avenue- we live on the 200 block. My avenue is only three blocks long. Our "neighbors" called claiming he "charged" them. The Warden had in her report that he was very friendly and easy to handle. She told us our "neighbors" don't like pits. My question is, when my "neighbors" saw us running up and down the block yelling his name, why didn't they tell us they had already called animal control and they had him?

I have been sick to my stomach, somehow Boss got out and we can not find him. The girls and I were outside with the dogs, I let Diamond and Snoop in and Ladybug brought Boss in on his leash. She made him sit to take the leash off and that was the last we saw of him. I didn't realize he was gone until maybe 20 minutes later when Butterfly asked where he was. We tore the house up then I looked outside. I felt so sick. Cal came home, we looked more and he drove around. I called the Animal shelter, they are closed until noon tomorrow. Cal said some people nearby saw the wagon so I am praying, hoping they have him.
